Exquisite Exterior

As a home ages, its exterior appearance can slowly start to deteriorate and become outdated. This older residence and detached garage featured lots of colour (yellow siding and turquoise-painted stone) and lacked curb appeal. It was definitely time for a face lift!

The roof shingles needed to be replaced, the garage roof had a major sag, and the house had serious ice damming problems. To correct this, a complete build-over was done on the roof, creating air space to eliminate the ice damming. We extended the roof-line for two reasons – to provide protection for the walls and windows from the weather, and to create a fresh new style. The garage roof was repaired, correcting the sag. With the previous installation of a new high-efficiency furnace, the chimney was no longer required, and was removed. To add character to this home, we extended the roof-lines over the doorways and added timber frame accents.

Beautiful new Hardie siding was installed, complimented by a soft sage green trim near the front door. To add some visual interest and texture, we applied Hardie shingles to the upper gables. We rebuilt the front steps, creating a sturdy and classic looking landing with a solid black railing that enhances the rustic feel of the main entry.

Overhauling the exterior makes this home a show-stopper in the neighbourhood, and the owners can rest easy with all the exterior maintenance upgrades. The ice damming issues have been completely resolved, and they love the new look!
